Church in the Wildwood

This project, as small as it may seem, does an incredible job serving the congregation of the Church in the Wildwood. Located in a small mountain town just west of Colorado Springs, in Green Mountain Falls, TDG had the opportunity to team with the Church in the Wildwood to create a multi-phased approach to several renovation projects.

Having been neglected and free from proper upgrades, it was our job to outline a series of renovation projects to best solve their needs. The Church compiled the documentation for applying for a grant, and we were there to help produce the visuals and promote creative thinking. The first phase aimed to solve very important aspects of the Church to be able to better serve the community. The objectives were to create a welcoming sense of arrival, to create an accessible path from existing parking to a new covered walkway and main entrance, and to increase the safety of the exterior walking surfaces. The interior remodel of the main common area was also a priority of the Church.

Rocky Mountain Vascular Center

Our client sought after Tremmel Design Group to create a new and exciting medical architecture design for their tenant. An outdated medical office had acquired new tenants and was in need of a remodel to better serve a new purpose. Our clients are experts at growing their medical business and were pleased that TDG was able to design a medical office that retained the business image while also creating new design features unique to this location. It was TDG’s challenge to make this location fit within its context of Colorado Springs.

Healthcare architecture can provide great opportunity for creativity. TDG designed a new space for its tenant that provided its patients a calming, comfortable environment.

PeakMed Primary Care

We’ve been fortunate enough to work with a new medical provider that has been expanding a digitally based practice called Peak Medical. This provider specializes in one stop, short appointment oriented services which also monitors clients using their current health monitoring systems, so the doctor can keep up with the client’s health electronically, both in terms of medical needs and their health/exercise needs. The doctor who founded the practice has four facilities. TDG has worked with the Peak Med doctor and staff from the beginning and has been part of the design of four of their forward-looking centers.

The building and interior designs of the Peak Med facilities reflect the unique services provided. Each facility feels more relaxed and personal at a residential scale than most medical offices.

Uncle Wilbur

The intent of this project was to introduce a work of public, interactive art into a downtown park in need of renewed public ownership and use. This location is the only remaining “pocket park” in the downtown care of Colorado Springs, and its health is vital to the success of surrounding businesses as well as the continued growth of downtown nightlife.

This is the only known fountain of its kind, the hydraulically operated figure of Uncle Wilber emerges from the mosaic pedestal under a blue umbrella-shaped form. As the sculpture rises, it begins to move and spout water. The surrounding concrete pavement serves as a play area for children of all ages who can dance with the tuba playing Uncle Wilber once per hour.

John Venezia Park

Inspired by letters from elementary school children petitioning the mayor of Colorado Springs for a new park and preservation need to save an endangered species, John Venezia donated 80 key acres in the fastest growing area of the city. The Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Services Department would use 30 acres for education and recreation. The program of the park was developed through community meetings and evolved throughout the design process as the needs of the community were expressed.

Ruggles Green | The Heights

At the Heights, the goal was to create better street presence, a more efficient kitchen, and make the dining rooms accessible. Tremmel Design Group and the interior designer on the project, Craig Schuster at Schuster Inc., also had goals to brighten up the restaurant interior and exterior with brick and stone veneer, white subway tile, mosaic marble, and install translucent sun shades over the outdoor dining areas and restaurant entrances. There is a small solar array on the roof as well as an electric vehicle charging station in the parking lot.

McGinty’s Irish Pub

In Divide, Colorado, McGinty’s, a popular restaurant and bar, took on a new interior in 2010 and the sports bar was finished in 2017. The pub’s new Irish design was inspired by the proprietor, Tracy McGinty’s Irish heritage, love for hospitality, restauranteering and enterprising spiriting. TDG had the honor of redesigning the interiors with the end goal of creating an incredible Irish atmosphere. The inside is now a warm, inviting and family focused venue, sprinkled with touches of Ireland throughout. Since renovations, McGinty’s has been praised by the Gazette and others for its food, service, and atmosphere, including its wood oven pizza, specialty beers, and newly expanded sports bar. The original bar was 2,482 sf while the expanded bar is 1,250 sf.

Ruggles Green | Sugarland

The Client located an existing building shell within a popular retail development for an additional restaurant location. The largest location for Ruggles yet, the Client is very concerned with sustainable business practice and building design. There are one of only a few Certified Green Restaurants, and the first in Houston. This concept spilled into the tenant finish project for this location at Sugarland. The architectural design and selection of interior finishes were done with the intent of being recycled, reused, or salvaged. Several distinct dining areas were created both inside and outdoors by way of half-height banquette ends that separate spaces and provide for circulation zones.

Ruggles Green | City Centre

The location at City Centre sits on the steps of a large grassy plaza and needed shading devices for their customers dining outdoors. Luckily, the existing building had detailing that was worth replicating.

The design is very simple, but has great function. It is a simple steel structure with wood elements to add warmth, electric heating units, pendant lighting, and an operable curtain for inclement weather. For the Client, it serves to extend their dining experience.
